Vicenza Team
Jessica Amacker | Instructor
Jessica, a proud army spouse and mom to three children, is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach, Birth & Back Movement Professional, and is Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. Jessica holds a B.S.Ed. in Elementary/Special Education from Mercer University and homeschools full time. Jessica found SLAM Leavenworth in 2016 and has had the opportunity to sweat like a mother and coach at three more locations—Anchorage, Columbus (GA), and Vicenza! Although the sweat-inducing fitness is why she was initially drawn to SLAM, it’s the uplifting community and sisterhood that makes this group so special. Jessica loves that this group is welcoming and supportive to parents in all stages of life, whether you’re pregnant, you’ve just had a baby, or you’re an empty nester; brand new to exercise, recovering from injury, or are a former collegiate athlete—SLAM has a space for everyone.
Lucy Lee | Instructor
Lucy is a mother of three and an Army spouse. She grew up swimming competitively, which eventually led her to compete as a student-athlete at NC State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.
Kerry Moore | Instructor
Kerry is a proud Army wife to Rich and mom to Perry who has a lifelong passion for health and fitness. She was the Georgia State Champion in the High Jump in 1995 and competed at the collegiate level. She obtained her BSED in Health & Physical Education from the University of Georgia and went on to work as a high school teacher and coach of multiple sports. She obtained her MBA from Shorter University before moving west to Seattle, Washington where she started her own outdoor fitness bootcamp and worked as a Wellness Director at a retirement community. She’s certified in personal and group training, water aerobics, tai chi, and yoga (spending a month living in an Ashram in the Netherlands) and has taught in various settings. She became a full-time mom upon having Perry in 2017 and started leading outdoor learning classes for children and parents. She met Steffi and the SLAM crew after arriving in Vicenza in 2022 and has enjoyed the group dynamics and encouragement. Now that Perry has started first grade, she’s excited to lead classes again. She loves seeing participants work hard, encourage each other, and feel the mental and physical results.
Mikayla Moreland | Instructor
Hey y’all! My name is Mikayla Moreland. I am a proud army spouse and mother to two daughters and soon to be little boy! I was born and raised in one of the smallest towns in Texas you’ll ever see. In 2015 I married my husband and shortly after we began our military journey. In previous duty stations I worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for several different specialties. I have always been into sports ever since I could walk but mom and work life got in the way. Once moving to Italy I found my true passion. Within the first 3 weeks I joined SLAM Vicenza and immediately fell in love. This environment allows you to grow mentally and physically, and I knew this is where I belonged. The instructors had such a positive influence on so many lives around me including myself I just knew I had to be apart of it. Coaching has always been I thought in the back of my mind ever since I was in high school. In February of 2023, I took a first step and obtained a Certificate in Group Fitness through ACE. I am also Adult and Infant BLS/CPR certified through the American Red Cross. I look forward to adding several more certificates in the future and continuing to grow as an instructor. SLAM Vicenza already has many different coaching styles and I am excited I get to add my own spin to it.

I am so happy I found SLAM Vicenza. Being a military spouse of a certain age, in a new country and with no children can be alienating. I spent the first couple of months at home and I felt myself starting to feeling lonely and depressed. I finally took the step I needed and messaged Steffi about joining SLAM Vicenza. I felt apprehensive because I was worried that I would not have anything in common with the current members because I am not a mother, but I was so wrong. The instructors of SLAM Vicenza foster such an open, welcoming, and inclusive environment, it is hard to feel unwelcome. I have made a group of close friends and now have a community (who welcome me as a cat mom) who I can rely on that I never would have had without SLAM Vicenza. Now, after over 100 classes, I am so grateful for the community and support that the SLAM Vicenza community provides.
I cannot recommend Steffi and her classes enough! Steffi is one of the most positive and supportive instructors I have ever learned from, she is patient and so helpful when teaching. She offers some really challenging workouts, but was always there to help me modify or adjust to my ability so I could still get a really good workout in. She is a great motivator and has always been so kind, and she was always so sweet with my kids when they would get antsy during classes! She will challenge you but help you reach your goals, all with such great energy and attitude. Steffi is an amazing instructor!
